LOCA arts education instructors provide custom classes for Adults, Kids and Families. Classes range from beginner to advanced level instruction.
Art classes for kids provide a great opportunity to build fine motor skills and hand eye coordination. In addition, they can encourage children to practice and persevere, which can be a difficult skill to learn. These benefits of art lessons extend beyond the classroom, helping children in other areas of their life, such as schoolwork and social interaction.
Located in Aliso Viejo, Artventure OC is a 2,000 sq ft collaborative space where students of all ages can work, learn and grow. The studio was founded by Larissa Marantz, a former Nickelodeon illustrator and animation character designer. Her art has been exhibited in group exhibitions and she has illustrated several children’s books.
In this class, you will explore the timeless art of oil painting. The instructor will guide you step by step through the process. The lesson is perfect for all ages, from beginners to experienced artists.

The Sawdust Art Festival is a non-juried show that provides a unique opportunity to showcase Laguna Beach artists and fulfills the artists’ mission of educating the public. Since its inception, the festival has grown to become Southern California’s most popular summer art show. In addition to art classes, the festival offers a variety of other activities, including food and drink vendors and live entertainment.
You can purchase tickets online or in-person at the festival’s admission booth. You can also buy a group discount for parties of 15 or more. Once you have your ticket, make sure to bring it with you so that you can easily enter the show grounds.

They also host thoughtful talks and events. Arts education is crucial to the development of our next generation of leaders, teachers, artists and more.
Join LPAPA artist member Jeff Sewell for an online, live-streamed Mentor Paint Together Feb. 13. Registrants will receive a list of needed supplies and a link to watch Sewell paint Laguna seascape with water mixable oil using photo reference, step-by-step. The session will also feature a question-and-answer opportunity and a post-event play, pause and paint recording for ongoing use.
Art classes are a great way to expose children and teens to different creative mediums. These experiences can help them discover which artistic styles they are most interested in. For example, kids who are fans of Pixar films or graphic novels can often identify visual styles that appeal to them. The same can be true for adults who are new to the arts. Just like body building, you can’t lift 100 pounds on your first day-it takes practice.
In addition to learning new skills, attending art classes can also be fun and social. For instance, a painting class with wine is the perfect date night for couples. For a more hands-on experience, Laguna Beach residents can take a pottery wheel class at ARTime Barro. The studio’s instructors teach core techniques for beginners and advance students alike. The studio even holds student exhibitions after every three months of instruction. Classes run the gamut from sketching to ceramics.
